Smart power stack

Starting with the world’s first Smart Battery Control IC for mobile handsets, SDB has been expanding its product range to “Smart Battery Multi-Stack” with large, small-and medium-sized businesses under the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).

It has been supplying a 5kW – 50kW industrial emergency power supply system, “Power Stack” to KEPCO, Korea Hydro Nuclear Power (KHNP), Korea Western Power Co., Ltd. (WP), Korea East-West Power Co., Ltd. (EWP), LG, POSCO, Samsung C&T Corp. and other large companies, public institutions.

It has recently developed storages for new renewable energy and stacks for nautical marks which have been sold in large volumes. SDB’s smart power stack is a lithium-ion rechargeable battery for emergency power supply. BMS (battery management system) is applied in lithium battery. It gives an adjustable output voltage between 12V and 1,000V.

This product stores and supplies power to ESS in case of imbalance between fluctuating load and irregular power generation of new & renewable energy. It enhances equipment life and reduces maintenance cost of control power generation. The power stack is establishing new standard for large-capacity Smart Lithium Battery. The ultra-high density per unit volume and mass enables a lighter and smaller product. It offers cost-reduction thanks to the introduction of long cycle life battery. It improves service productivity with operating BMS not required maintenance such as uniform charging, electrolyte supplement etc., ensuring reliability with parallel connection and expandability.
