[INQ. NO. 2310E01] Huvitz Corp., a healthcare medical device company, recently launched ‘HBM-1,’ an optical biometry device that provides optimized workflow for cataract surgery.
HBM-1 is a 2-in-1 device that integrates optical biometry and corneal topography into one, measures 10 tests at once, and calculates accurate IOL power values through various formulas, thereby providing optimal workflow for cataract surgery.
Proven light-interference technology accurately measures four biometric values for cataract surgery, thus making it possible to obtain highly reliable data without deviation due to skill level. In addition, various combinations of patient conditions, IOL brands, types, and formulas can be compared and prescribed, and premium lens prescriptions that can correct astigmatism, myopia, and presbyopia are also possible.

In addition, the built-in myopia management program allows for a wide range of uses, from monitoring to regular management. By monitoring the patient’s vision history — including changes in axial length (AL) and refraction, diagnosing glasses, and dream lenses, comparing changes before and after prescription, and checking anisometropia — one can track changes in the patient’s ocular health status and establish a long-term treatment plan.
Another advantage is the realization of a user-centered inspection environment. It can be easily linked with DICOM to enable analysis of patient test data from various devices. Additionally, it has a built-in PC, so one can check everything from measurements to analysis reports on the LCD screen without a separate PC, which not only reduces treatment time but also increases inspection efficiency.
Huvitz expects that HBM-1, which offers speed, accuracy, convenience, and price competitiveness, will become a new alternative to cataract inspection equipment.
