Sky Labs Inc. recently announced that its wearable device, ‘Apollon,’ won the Innovation Award at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to be held in Las Vegas, USA.
Sky Labs, which won the Innovation Award for the second time since 2022, is a domestic healthcare company that developed the world’s first smart ring capable of measuring blood pressure.
Sky Labs introduced Apollon, which added oxygen saturation, body temperature, and respiratory rate measurement functions to the existing smart ring ‘CART BP Pro’ that can measure blood pressure for 24 hours.
The awarded device is a product in which the ring and wristband are connected by a wire. The ring, connected to the wristband with a display attached, can be worn regardless of the size of the finger by applying a silicone cover.
Medical staff can check the wearer’s health data with the display attached to the wristband. The battery has been moved from the ring to the wristband, thus increasing the usage time compared to before.
The CEO of the company commented, “I am delighted to have once again received the honor of an award at the world’s largest home appliance exhibition,” adding, “We will continue to lead the way in improving patient management convenience and medical services to strengthen our global competitiveness.”
In addition to the news of the award for Apollon, Sky Labs’ ‘Cart BP Pro’ was selected as a key monitoring tool in a five-year cohort study being conducted by the Korean Society of Hypertension to commemorate its 30th anniversary. Sky Labs expects that the study will serve as an important stepping stone to evaluate various clinical outcomes of hypertension and increase treatment efficacy.
Sky Labs is currently developing technology while conducting a national project with Ilsan Hospital in Gyeonggi-do Province.
