[INQ. NO. 2502E01] Vieworks recently announced that its X-ray detectors for mammography, ‘VIVIX-M 1824S’ and ‘VIVIX-M 2430S,’ have received pre-market approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Vieworks’ mammography product line is expected to see significant sales growth, as it has expanded its supply to the North American market, as well as Europe and South America, which have recently shown remarkable growth.
The two approved products are flat-panel detectors that can capture X-rays based on static image-based in the digital mammography field. They belong to the ‘Retrofit’ product line that can easily convert analog X-ray systems using film cassettes to digital. They are designed according to the same specifications as analog cassettes, enabling the establishment of a digital diagnosis system and acquisition of high-quality images without replacing the entire system.
In terms of performance, they are equipped with the latest panel technology, indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO), thin film transistors, enabling diagnostic images to be shown within just 3 seconds with low power. They provide clear clinical images with a pixel pitch of 75µm. The bezel thickness is less than 2mm, making patient positioning convenient when shooting.
They can also maximize workflow efficiency by linking with ‘VXvue Mammo,’ which is digital mammography-specific image acquisition software. Equipped with ‘PureImpact M,’ an advanced image processing algorithm developed exclusively for breast diagnosis, they correct major lesions in the breast to make it easier to diagnose, and a gridline preservation function that preserves image clarity has also been added.
Recently, Vieworks’ long-type detector ‘VIVIX-S 1751S’ product also received pre-market approval from the FDA in November last year, which is gaining momentum for Vieworks’ expansion of its North American market share.

A spokesperson for the company explained “Following the recent participation in RSNA 2024 to showcase our core technologies to local interested parties, the new long-type detector products and mammography detector products have also received FDA approval, providing a foundation for opening up North American sales channels and increasing market share.”
