Growing as a global exhibition &convention center with an exhibition area of 178,000m2

KINTEX (CEO Lee Jae-yul), the largest exhibition & convention center in Korea, will begin construction of its 3rd exhibition center in earnest in the first half of 2025. With this, the completion of the ‘Basic Plan for the Construction of Comprehensive Exhibition Centers in the Capital Area,’ a national project of the Republic of Korea launched in 1998 to build world-class exhibition centers, seems to be in sight.
KINTEX is currently being operated with its 1st and 2nd exhibition centers. The 1st exhibition center was opened in 2005 with an area of approximately 54,000m2 through the first phase of the project; and the 2nd, the second phase, opened in 2011, is currently being operated with a total exhibition area of approximately 108,000m2.
When the 3rd exhibition center with an area of 70,000m2 is completed, KINTEX will thus have a total exhibition area of 178,000m2. This is a level that ranks about 25th in the world in terms of exhibition area, and can host global events on par with world-class exhibitions such as CES (186,000m2) in Las Vegas, USA; ‘IFA (164,000m2)’ in Berlin, Germany; and ‘MWC (120,000m2)’ in Barcelona, Spain.
Meanwhile, in addition to building the 3rd exhibition center, KINTEX also began fully operating ‘Yashobhoomi,’ the largest exhibition & convention center in India, last year. KINTEX and the Ambassador Hotel Group will operate KINTEX’s 3rd center’s anchor hotel under the Novotel brand of the French global hotel chain of Accor Group, and Ambassador Hotel Group plans to provide international-level accommodation services for the next 20 years.
KINTEX stated that the construction of the anchor hotel and the operation of the ambassador Hotel Group will further enhance the efficiency of exhibition events to be held at KINTEX. In particular, the anchor hotel is expected to play a role as KINTEX’s representative MICE support infrastructure by creating an environment where not only various business customers but also general tourists can stay for a long time.
In addition, Goyang City, where KINTEX is located, is also expecting positive effects on the revitalization of the local economy. Above all, it can be said that attracting a global hotel chain for the first time in Goyang City is a meaningful achievement.
A spokesperson for the Ambassador Hotel Group explained, “We are very pleased that this agreement will not only strengthen the brand value of the Ambassador Hotel Group but also contribute to the development of the local economy and tourism industry,” adding “As hotel experts, we will work closely with KINTEX based on our accumulated know-how and operational capabilities to play an important role in hotel operation, management, and customer service.”

Coex Expands its MICE Empire:
New Coex Magok Convention Center Leads Seoul’s Western Innovation Hub

A New Milestone in Seoul’s MICE Industry

Coex has established itself as Korea’s premier exhibition and convention center, serving as a cornerstone of the nation’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry. Hosting over thirty major exhibitions annually, Coex has become synonymous with success and innovation in the sector. Last year marked a significant milestone in the center’s history as it celebrated unprecedented achievements.
In a bold step forward, Coex introduced the Coex Magok Convention Center (hereafter referred to as Coex Magok), Seoul’s first exhibition and convention center in the city’s western region. This landmark opening took place on November 28, 2024, and signaled the beginning of a new era for MICE activities in western Seoul.
With an anticipated occupancy rate of sixty-five percent in its inaugural year, Coex Magok has been hailed as a transformative addition to the region’s exhibition industry. This development is particularly meaningful given that, since 2000, new exhibition venues in Korea have predominantly emerged outside Seoul.
The introduction of Coex Magok marks a significant shift, reinvigorating Seoul’s role as a hub for industrial innovation. This addition is set to strengthen Korea’s global reputation in the competitive MICE sector, creating new opportunities for growth and collaboration.

Where Vision Meets Versatility

Coex Magok has been meticulously designed to integrate exhibition and convention spaces, offering a seamless “ConfEx” experience that combines the best of both worlds. Spanning five floors and encompassing 7,452 square meters of exhibition space, the venue offers a variety of purpose-built facilities for a range of events.
The ground floor features a sprawling exhibition hall that connects directly to Magok Plaza, providing organizers with unparalleled flexibility for large-scale events. The basement houses the Square Ballroom, a versatile space linked to a vibrant underground commercial zone. This area is ideal for seminars, weddings, and catering events, offering visitors a convenient and accessible experience.
On the third floor, meeting rooms are designed to accommodate small-scale business gatherings and interviews. Some rooms boast outdoor views, adding an inspiring touch to meetings. The fourth floor is home to Le West Hall, the centerpiece of Coex Magok.
This expansive convention hall can host up to 2,200 attendees and is divisible into three independent sections, making it suitable for conferences, shareholder meetings, and academic symposia. The fifth floor complements these facilities with additional multi-purpose rooms, supporting mid-sized seminars and breakout sessions.
The vertical layout of Coex Magok is a modern marvel. It allows diverse and simultaneous events to be held within a compact footprint. Industries such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology, which have a significant presence in Magok, have found Coex Magok to be an ideal venue for their activities.

A Gateway to Seamless Connectivity

Coex Magok offers exceptional accessibility, enhancing its appeal as a premier event destination. The center is directly connected to Subway Line 9’s Magoknaru Station and the Airport Railroad, ensuring convenient access from Gimpo and Incheon International Airports. Major roadways such as Olympic Boulevard provide seamless travel options for participants from across Korea and abroad.
Magok itself has emerged as a thriving hub for advanced industries, surpassing even landmarks like Sangam DMC and Pangyo Techno Valley in scale. The complex is designed as a mixed-use facility, featuring a 400-room Mercure Hotel on its upper floors, a shopping mall below, and cultural attractions nearby, including LG Science Park and Seoul Botanic Park.
This integration of business, leisure, and culture creates a comprehensive experience for MICE participants, making Coex Magok a destination that meets a variety of needs.

Redefining Events with Innovation and Sustainability

Coex Magok has set new standards for efficiency and automation. By collaborating with August Robotics, Coex introduced Korea’s first floor-marking robots, streamlining event setup and enhancing operational precision. This innovative approach reflects Coex’s commitment to digital transformation and operational excellence.
Looking to the future, Coex is determined to lead the global MICE industry by fostering international collaborations and embracing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles. With its dual locations in Seoul and international ventures in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Germany, Coex is poised to shape the future of exhibitions on a global scale.
Coex stand as shining examples of Korea’s visionary approach to the exhibition industry. These dynamic venues not only address current demands but also anticipate future trends, ensuring their place at the forefront of global innovation.

Beginners’ Guide to: Jeju Island

https://korean-electronics.com//inquiry

Located southwest of the Korean Peninsula is the largest island of Korea, Jeju Island. The island is one of the most relaxing vacation spots found in Korea thanks to its unique local atmosphere and beautiful natural environment. The volcanic lava tubes that make up nearly 10% of the island’s area are a designated UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.
Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone, Manjanggul Lava Tube, and Hallasan National Park are must-see sights. Additional attractions include forests, waterfalls, and parasitic cones. With so many beautiful things to see, it can be hard work to plan your itinerary. Following our guide, you can enjoy a stress-free, relaxing retreat, no matter which part of Jeju you choose to visit.

UNESCO World Heritage Course

Rising from the sea, Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone
Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone, a landmark attraction of Jeju, was formed about 5,000 years ago from an eruption of magma on the ocean floor. It is especially famous as a sunrise viewing spot, known to be one of the top ten exquisite sceneries of Jeju Island.
Besides viewing the sunrise, Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone is also known to be an excellent trekking spot. The Seongsan-Ojo Trail connects two villages by crossing the peak. Another popular trail, the Jijil Trail, offers a closer look at the UNESCO-designated geopark as well as Jeju’s local culture. Walking along one of these paths is recommended to really experience the area; walking all the way to the summit offers views of both the vast volcanic crater in the center and the blue ocean surrounding the area. To complete your trip, head to Seongsanpo Port to watch haenyeo (female divers) at work.

Feel the breeze at Cape Seopjikoji
A short drive from Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak will take you to Cape Seopjikoji. The name comes from the Jeju dialect for a “Cape of Small Land” due to its peculiar cliff formation that protrudes into the ocean. The picturesque harmony of the hill and ocean attract tourists all year round. You might even be able to sight Jeju ponies grazing on the field of grass.
Walking northeast along the cliff, you will arrive at Bulgeunoreum Parasitic Cone, offering an exquisite view of a white lighthouse with the dark blue sea in the background. Additional noteworthy attractions of Cape Seopjikoji are the Glasshouse and Yumin Art Gallery, two masterpieces designed by world-renowned architect Ando Tadao. The two buildings blend in remarkably well with the surrounding nature.

Observe the beauty of ridges at Yongnunioreum Parasitic Cone
You can’t say you’ve been to Jeju Island without visiting one of the many oreum, Jeju dialect for parasitic cone. There are approximately 360 oreum scattered throughout Jeju. Among these hundreds of oreums, Yongnunioreum Parasitic Cone is undoubtedly the most well-known. It’s not far from Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone and has a moderately gentle slope, providing a fairly convenient trail for trekking.
Both Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone and Udo Island can be seen from the peak of Yongnunioreum, offering an unforgettable panorama. The view of curvy ridges along with the ocean also serves as an excellent backdrop for memorable photos. If you are looking for a perfect spot for souvenir photos, be sure to check out Yongnunioreum Parasitic Cone.

A long-lasting garden of nutmeg yews, Bijarim Forest
In contrast to Yongnunioreum’s open vistas, Bijarim Forest is an ideal spot for a relaxing forest retreat. The dense forest is home to hundreds of bija (nutmeg yew) trees, and is the largest forest in the world to be made up of one plant species. Most of the trees in the forest have lived for 500 to 700 years, earning the forest the nickname “Forest of a Thousand Years.” Must-see sights while at Bijarim Forest are none other than the 800-year old tree and the conjoined nutmeg yews.

Enter the mysterious underground castle, Manjanggul Lava Tube
Of all the oreum on Jeju, Geomunoreum is the only parasitic cone to be designated as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. The oreum holds over 20 caves within its body, although only Manjanggul Lava Tube is open to the public. With its profoundly mysterious and grand appearance, taking a step inside the cave is like stepping into Hades’ underworld. Follow the tunnel of articulate lava rock formations, and you will soon reach a giant rock pillar that indicates the end of the cave. The cave’s temperature fluctuates within 11-21°C regardless of season, allowing visitors to enjoy the magnificent cave all year round.

Seogwipo Nature & Culture Course

Enjoy artwork along the ocean, Jeongbangpokpo Falls and Waljong Art Gallery
Seogwipo, which includes the entire southern half of Jeju, exhibits a great amount of sunshine and warm temperatures, attracting crowds of tourists all year round. One attraction many people choose to visit is Jeongbangpokpo Falls, one of the top three waterfalls on Jeju Island. The water falls 23 meters straight down off the cliff and into a pool before flowing to the sea.
Located on the cliff behind Jeongbangpokpo Falls is Waljong Art Gallery. This gallery is dedicated to the Korean artist Lee Wal Jong, who settled in Jeju decades ago. The gallery is filled with his inspiring artworks, expressing the beauty of Jeju in his own unique way. The strategic location and glass-walled second floor also offer visitors an amazing view looking over the sea.

Nature-made art, Jusangjeolli Cliff and Cheonjeyeonpokpo Falls
Jeju Jungmun Resort is blessed with not only beautiful natural scenery but also with numerous entertainment and convenience facilities catering to both domestic and international tourists. Jusangjeolli Cliff, near the International Convention Center Jeju, delivers a sight to behold with its gigantic rock pillars running along the costal line. Cheonjeyeonpokpo Falls, a three-tiered waterfall, is another attraction not to be missed in Seogwipo. While the first section of the waterfall is only active after rain, the second and third sections are active all year round.

Rekindle childhood memories at the Teddy Bear Museum
Another favorite tourist attraction at Jungmun Resort is the Teddy Bear Museum. The museum boasts quite an impressive collection of teddy bears from all over the world. Exhibition halls are designed with different themes, such as 20th century history exhibition and fable parodies, all portrayed by teddy bears. The Teddy Bear Museum is a popular museum loved by visitors of all ages, recommended as an excellent place to visit with friends, families, or even on a date. The museum also has a souvenir shop, cafeteria, and a park that offers a splendid view.

Downtown Jeju History & Culture Course

Discover the history and culture of Jeju Island
Yongduam Rock, a top tourist attraction in downtown Jeju, is one of the many natural wonders of Jeju Island. Formed by underwater lava millions of years ago, eons of weathering from the rain and wind have formed it into the likeness of a dragon’s head.
After visiting Yongduam Rock, head down to the Jeju Folklore & Natural History Museum to learn about the development of the island people and culture over time. Not only does Jeju Island have its own dialect, it also has a distinct culture that separates it from the rest of mainland Korea, all of which you can see and enjoy from a quick tour of the museum. Right next to the museum is Samseonghyeol Shrine, a religious site that is also the birthplace of Jeju’s ancient mythology. The old trees and traces of the past create a devotional atmosphere.

BPBIO is widely used in various environments such as hospitals, fitness centers, offices, senior homes, and other public spaces. The accuracy of its monitors has been clinically validated under the universal standard (ISO81060-2:2018).
InBody’s R&D institute strives to develop more accurate and convenient blood pressure monitors by overcoming existing limitations. As opposed to the conventional deflationary oscillometric blood pressure monitors, inflationary oscillometric blood pressure monitors ensure less blood vessel deformation and painless blood pressure measurement by applying customized pressurization to the user.
