Sky Labs Inc. recently announced that its wearable device, ‘Apollon,’ won the Innovation Award at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to be held in Las Vegas, USA.
Sky Labs, which won the Innovation Award for the second time since 2022, is a domestic healthcare company that developed the world’s first smart ring capable of measuring blood pressure.
Sky Labs introduced Apollon, which added oxygen saturation, body temperature, and respiratory rate measurement functions to the existing smart ring ‘CART BP Pro’ that can measure blood pressure for 24 hours.
The awarded device is a product in which the ring and wristband are connected by a wire. The ring, connected to the wristband with a display attached, can be worn regardless of the size of the finger by applying a silicone cover.
Medical staff can check the wearer’s health data with the display attached to the wristband. The battery has been moved from the ring to the wristband, thus increasing the usage time compared to before.

Winning a number of Innovation Awards in CES 2025

Korean export companies are steadily increasing their brand awareness in overseas export markets thanks to their actual growing recognition.
Companies representing the Korean electronics industry have won a number of ‘CES Innovation Awards’ ahead of the world’s largest electronics and information technology (IT) exhibition, CES 2025, to be held in Las Vegas, USA, in January next year.

Samsung Electronics won a total of 29 innovation awards, including four Best Innovation Awards; and LG Electronics won a total of 24 innovation awards, including three Best Innovation Awards. In addition, Samsung SDI won four awards, and LG Innotek won one innovation award.
Domestic robot and artificial intelligence (AI) startups also attracted much attention by winning a number of innovation awards.

Korea’s exports in November increased by 1.4%, continuing to increase for the 14th consecutive month.
November’s exports amounted to $56.35 billion, up 1.4% from the same month last year. Korea’s exports have continued to increase for 14 consecutive months since the growth rate turned from negative to positive in October last year.
Looking at the trends of the 15 major export items, semiconductor exports increased for 13 consecutive months.
November’s semiconductor exports amounted to $12.5 billion, up 30.8% from the same month last year. This is the largest performance in November ever.
From January to November this year, semiconductor exports increased by 45.4% from the same period last year to $127.4 billion, also breaking the record high.
Computer product exports, including Solid State Drives (SSDs), increased by a massive 122.3% to $1.4 billion, increasing for the 11th consecutive month. In addition, wireless communication device exports increased by 19.7% from last year to $2 billion.
