Micro Medical Robot System

https://korean-electronics.com//inquiry

[INQ. NO. 2408E06] Established in 2019, IMsystem Co., Ltd. has developed Korea’s first micro medical robot system for precision vascular interventional procedures, and is currently commercializing it.
Currently, IMsystem has completed the prototype production of a remote magnetic micro medical robot system for vascular intervention procedures, and the licensing process is in progress.

Micro medical robot system for precision vascular intervention procedures
Unlike existing vascular intervention procedures in which the operator manually manipulates surgical tools, the micro medical robot system for precision vascular intervention (IM_SuperMag_Clinic) uses a magnetic field control system installed at the bottom of the patient’s bed. It is a remote surgery system using a magnetic guide wire/catheter microrobot attached to a microrobot fitted at the end of the existing guide wire/catheter.
Existing procedures have limitations in that it is difficult to insert surgical tools into narrow blood vessels of complex shapes due to manual manipulation by the operator, so the results of the treatment depend on the operator’s skill level. In addition, in the case of complex procedures, not only does exposure to radiation from X-rays, etc., increase due to increased procedure time, but the number of patients who can receive the procedure is also limited due to operator fatigue.

IM_SuperMag_Clinic controls remote surgical tools through magnetic field control, and the operator performs the procedure using a joystick/3D mouse while viewing X-ray images in a separate space rather than inside the operating room.
By reducing fatigue and radiation exposure and improving the convenience of the procedure, the success rate of the procedure, the speed of patient recovery, and the number of daily patients can be increased. It can thus meet the needs of patients, operators, and hospitals, respectively.
Following the completion of prototype development has been completed, and domestic GMP and licensing are currently in preparation. The acquisition of a domestic license is expected by the end of 2025. For overseas, IMsystem is aiming for CE and FDA approval in 2028. And it is expected that it will be able to quickly advance into overseas markets after being exempted from clinical trials by receiving 510k equivalent recognition from the FDA.

Eco-Friendly SES Smart Water Meter

https://korean-electronics.com//inquiry

[INQ. NO. 2408E05] ShinDongA Electronics Co., Ltd. is the first Korean manufacturer to produce fluid vibration electronic water meters and is taking the lead in making 21st-century smart meters based on outstanding performance of its own brand, the ‘SES water meter.’
Unlike the previous mechanical water meter that detects flows through the internal impeller’s rotation, the manufacturer’s SES smart water meter measures flows through the Coanda Effect: fluid vibration electronic system.
As there is no separate driving part inside, the smart water meter has relative advantages in improving durability degradation caused by component wear and tear, and increasing measurement accuracy and is safer as there is no degradation in comparison with the mechanical water meter.
There is a stark difference when looking at the material used for the new product. While the existing product is made of brass (low-leaded/unleaded) from which a certain amount of harmful substances are emitted, the SES water meter is an eco-friendly product that does not generate harmful substances such as lead, zinc and formaldehyde as it uses Polyketone that is an engineering plastic material developed by Hyosung Chemical.
Moreover, the water meter is equipped with NB-IoT, Bluetooth and LoRa modules, making it unnecessary to attach additional devices, and comes in a compact size for anyone to easily install even in a narrow space.

Advanced Metering Infrastructure and Automatic Meter Reading
Such modules work together to transmit flow data that is collected through wireless AMI/AMR methods and saved in the server. And the data can be checked through the website and mobile application to immediately uncover any abnormalities.
As the mobile application is divided for managers/officers and users, a user is able to directly ascertain the amount consumed in his/her home.

Gas Range

https://korean-electronics.com//inquiry

[INQ. NO. 2408E03] PASECO recently released a new-concept gas range that enhances safety by dually installing the only gas circuit-breaker and smart safety sensor in Korea.
PASECO explains that this is the only product in Korea that adds smart performance to existing gas ranges that have focused only on ignition for a long time. PASECO is the only company that produces and distributes the entire lineup of built-in kitchen appliances in Korea.
PASECO’s newly introduced gas range is equipped with a gas circuit breaker as a basic feature, which can prevent fires caused by carelessness in advance. Precise settings can be made in units of minutes, from one minute to a maximum of 90 minutes.
Therefore, you can place various foods on the gas flame, from simple cooking to dishes that require simmering like beef leg bones, and perform other things without any burden. In addition, it can be used as a cooking timer for dishes that require precise recipes, such as three minutes on high heat and two minutes on low heat.
Moreover, PASECO’s unique smart safety sensor prevents risks such as overflow, wind, and high heat that can cause fires. This is because the smart safety sensor detects risks such as boiling over or blowing wind during cooking, to prevent fire from spreading, and immediately shuts off the gas to stop operation.
In particular, when frying, which often has a high risk of fire, the ignition is automatically turned off before the oil spontaneously combusts. In addition, the temperature of the bottom of the cooking appliance is measured in real time and the gas is shut off instantly when a buzzer sounds if it exceeds 230˚C.
A spokesperson for PASECO explained, “Based on our production know-how in producing and distributing the entire lineup of kitchen appliances, we have released a new-concept gas range that is the only one in Korea to combine a gas circuit-breaker and a smart safety sensor,” adding “We will not rest on our laurels, but will continue to focus on developing products that can ensure the safety and convenience of consumers.”

Smart Farm Control Solution

https://korean-electronics.com//inquiry

[INQ. NO. 2408E01] ChatGPT, a generative artificial intelligence (AI) service, is being used to support smart farm operations.
A smart farm-control solution utilizing a natural language AI chatbot was introduced at a local agricultural and food tech startup expo held at COEX in Seoul.
This solution, showcased by UBN Corp., was created using version 4.0 of ChatGPT developed by Open AI as an API. Language prompts related to agriculture were created and trained. When linked with smart farm sensors, it analyzes real-time data for each user. It can also issue commands to operate smart farm sensors.

For example, if you say ‘Tell me the current status,’ it will inform you of the temperature, humidity, and illuminance of the connected smart farm. Then, if you input ‘Compare with strawberry cultivation environment,’ it will provide suitable environmental conditions and compare them with the user’s smart farm environment, and respond to questions like, ‘Should I turn on the lighting?’ If you give a command, you can even modify the sensor’s target value.
A UBN spokesperson explained, “The current smart farm control method requires you to identify and change data directly or through an app, one by one,” adding “But there were opinions received that it was inconvenient to identify and change while working in the agricultural field, so we were thinking about a convenient operating method. So, we came up with the app using a natural-language AI model that understands the context.”
After improving the learning of the AI model, UBN’s ultimate goal is to enable voice control on wearable devices such as smartwatches.
UBN offers Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions such as the smart farm system and IoT sensors for home plant cultivation, to which the advanced ICT technologies including IoT (Internet of Things) and USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Network) are applied.
