ILias AI Co., Ltd., an AI-based startup that uses olfactory recognition, announced recently that it will unveil the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) of its digital drug dog, which won the Innovation Award, for the first time at the world’s largest information technology (IT) and home appliance exhibition CES 2025 to be held in Las Vegas, USA, from January 7 to 10 next year.
ILias AI will provide an opportunity for visitors to experience the innovative technology firsthand by demonstrating the core performance and real-time detection function of digital drug detection technology. It will seek opportunities for collaboration with global companies and organizations as an important venue where the commercialization potential of digital drug dogs can be directly confirmed.
The digital drug dog is based on unique technology developed by ILias AI that combines an olfactory sensor array and an AI deep learning model to automate drug detection and odor data analysis through 24-hour, non-stop operation. It detects various drugs and harmful substances without contact using advanced olfactory-recognition AI technology. This can cover a wider range, including new types of substances that existing detection technologies cannot detect.
It performs detection without direct contact with the subject’s body in a non-contact manner to minimize privacy infringement, and automates the detection process to quickly determine detected substances and provide notifications. It is more reliable and accurate than manual detection methods.
In particular, it continuously learns datasets on various types of drugs and environmental gases to expand the detection range and capability, and can quickly detect them at airports, ports, logistics centers, and even large-scale event sites. It complements the physical limitations of traditional detection dogs and improves safety by accurately performing operations in hazardous environments.
Founded in 2022, ILias AI is developing olfactory-recognition technology that can be used in various industries based on digital data by visualizing odors.
“Our goal is to create a better social environment through technology, and we will present that vision to the world by winning awards and revealing MVP at this CES 2025. We will grow as a company that exerts greater influence in the global market and contributes to solving social problems through AI technology,” noted the company’s CEO.
