[INQ. NO. 2609E03] WALK101 Co., Ltd., an AI-based musculoskeletal medical image analysis company, aims to introduce its musculoskeletal X-ray image-analysis solution, GMSM, at KIMES BUSAN 2026.
WALK101 is developing AI medical software that automatically identifies key anatomical points in musculoskeletal X-ray images and measures, and analyzes clinically necessary indicators. The company was founded by CEO Dong-sik Chae, an orthopedic surgeon, with the goal of resolving the inefficiencies of repetitive measurement and interpretation processes experienced in actual clinical practice, and contributing to the early detection and prevention of musculoskeletal diseases.

The flagship solution, GMSM, supports X-ray images of various musculoskeletal areas — including the spine, hips, knees, ankles, feet, wrists, elbows, and shoulders — within a single AI analysis system. It automatically identifies key anatomical landmarks in images, measures clinical indicators, and analyzes abnormal findings to provide structured information that medical professionals can utilize for diagnosis and interpretation.
A key feature is its design that integrates with hospital PACS systems, allowing for seamless integration into the workflow of actual medical practices. The system operates by automatically receiving X-ray images from PACS, performing AI analysis, and then transmitting the results back to the PACS. The company explains that this reduces repetitive manual measurement tasks performed by medical staff and enables the provision of quantitative and consistent analytical information.
WALK101 has currently obtained a total of 19 digital medical-device approvals in Korea related to musculoskeletal X-ray AI. These include the Class II medical device ScanoX, as well as solutions targeting various anatomical regions such as FOOTAIX, Knee_AP_AIX, Hip_AP_AIX, and Shoulder_AIX.
WALK101 has also established quality-control and information-security systems. It has secured certifications including KGMP and ISO 13485, as well as ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 for information security and personal-data protection. It is enhancing the reliability and clinical applicability of its products through continuous research and clinical validation with domestic university hospitals and medical institutions.
WALK101’s differentiation from its competitors rests in supporting a diverse range of musculoskeletal domains within a single platform, going beyond AI analysis limited to specific body parts. Its GMSM was developed to be utilized within actual hospital imaging diagnostic workflows, rather than as a separate, independent AI program, by providing not only automatic measurement and abnormality analysis but also PACS integration.
Key customers are hospitals and medical institutions that perform musculoskeletal X-ray examinations. Targeting medical professionals in departments such as radiology and orthopedics who interpret X-ray images or perform repetitive clinical measurements, WALK101 is expanding its market by focusing on medical institutions seeking to improve the efficiency of image analysis and the consistency of measurement results.

At KIMES BUSAN 2026, the key features and practical applications of GMSM will be introduced to domestic and international medical professionals, including those at medical institutions in the Busan and Yeongnam regions. The company plans to expand its networks covering hospitals, medical institutions, and medical device distribution and business partners, while identifying the needs of actual clinical practice to reflect them in future product advancements. Meanwhile, it is also accelerating its entry into overseas markets.

Currently, WALK101 is pursuing business primarily in the United States and Vietnam, having established a local business base and representative system in the USA. In Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, it is collaborating with local medical institutions and partners to proceed with clinical validation, local application, and commercialization in stages.
Moving forward, WALK101 plans to pursue seeking local medical device regulatory approvals, secure clinical data, and integrate with hospital PACS environments in major overseas markets, including the United States and Vietnam, while also identifying reliable distribution and business partners. At the same time, the company intends to strengthen its business foundation in the global musculoskeletal medical AI market by continuously expanding the applicable anatomical regions and analysis capabilities of GMSM.
A spokesperson for the company commented, “Our GMSM is a solution designed to improve clinical efficiency and the consistency of analysis results by automating the repetitive tasks of musculoskeletal X-ray measurement and analysis performed by medical staff using AI. We will expand cooperation with domestic and international medical institutions and partners through KIMES BUSAN 2026 and develop it into a musculoskeletal medical AI platform that is practically utilized in clinical settings.”
