Korean Exporters Maintaining Pace of Growth

Korea’s October exports reached $59.57 billion, a 3.6% increase year-on-year. This marks the highest-ever October export performance.
By product, exports of four of the 15 major export items increased in October. Semiconductor exports increased significantly by 25.4% to $15.73 billion, marking the eighth consecutive month of growth and the highest-ever October performance.
This growth was driven by strong demand for high-capacity, high-value-added memory, such as server-focused HBM and DDR5, which led to rising memory contract prices.
Computer exports also rose by 1.7% to $980 million, ending a three-month decline and turning positive.
However, there was a relatively high decline in exports of automobiles, auto parts, steel, general machinery, and home appliances, which are being heavily impacted by U.S. tariffs.
By region, exports increased to two of Korea’s nine major export regions in October. Exports to the United States decreased by 16.2% to $8.71 billion — the only region to record a double-digit decline among nine major regions — as key items such as automobiles, auto parts, steel, and general machinery weakened due to the imposition of tariffs by the USA.

Exports to China decreased slightly to $11.55 billion (-5.1%), but remaining above $11 billion for the second consecutive month. Exports to ASEAN decreased by 6.5% to $9.4 billion, as most items, excluding semiconductors, declined due to fewer working days in Korea due to the extended Chuseuk holiday.

Vieworks’ technological prowess is recognized through FDA approval and European CE certification. Last November, it received FDA approval for its long-type detector, the VIVIX-S 1751S, and in January this year, its mammography X-ray detectors, the VIVIX-M 1824S and VIVIX-M 2430S. In May, it also received European in vitro diagnostic medical device certification, the CE IVDR, for its new slide scanner, the VISQUE DPS (Digital Pathology System) LH510.

Page phones are used as a means of communication between workers in very noisy workplaces such as power plants, large factories, etc. In such environments, a worker can contact other workers by broadcasting through a speaker installed on site. Ekomos’ environmental sensor precisely measures various environmental factors, including temperature, humidity, fine dust (PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10), carbon dioxide, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and the AQI index, and transmits them to a server via Ethernet and RS485. It is used for indoor and outdoor environmental monitoring and industrial process management.
Measured data is stored with accurate time information retrieved from an Internet time server. Real-time measured data can be transmitted to external recording devices via MQTT and MODBUS, as well as the Ethernet, PoE, Wi-Fi, and RS485 interfaces.

Power options include PoE, USB Type-C, and DC Input. The USB port allows for UART serial terminal communication with a PC, and options for built-in functions can be configured.
