South Korean consumer electronics makers are seeking more effective ways to make inroads into the remaining potential export destinations in global markets. Such active moves by Korean companies at first
glance seem similar to that of before, but are now more sincere, energetic, and strategic – in their specific areas of approaches to the targeted markets.
At the upcoming world’s top consumer electronics fair, IFA2013, the nations’ companies are expected to
form the climax in this year’s comprehensive promotion toward the global market.
The various sizes and types of consumer electronics and home appliances makers of Korea believe that this
world’s largest trade show will create a valuable opportunity for them to use it as leverage to endlessly
lead various sectors of the global IT world, particularly in the European markets.
About 100 Korean companies will showcase their full reasons for appealing to overseas potential buyers.
The South Korean exhibits scheduled to be revealed commonly feature strengthened smart functions, especially in a wide array of home appliances including TVs, Refrigerators, Air Conditioners, etc. The Korean makers-led Internet-based smart functions that enable convenient sharing of contents among various kinds of home appliances are emerging as keywords for the upcoming IFA 2013.
There was a big recent stride by a locally based but globally top-ranking electronics giant. LG Electronics recently captured big attention by releasing both 55-and 65-inch UHD (ultra-high definition) TVs (model name: LA9700) in the United States. The developer showcased its newly launched products before several hundred business partners and customers invited at high-end retailer Video & Audio Center in LA.
The release of the 65-and 55-inch UHD TV in addition to 84-inch TV in the USA gives an edge for LG Electronics to solidify its presence in the global market for highdefinition TVs.
The two were certified by testing firms including the UK’s Intertek and America’s UL last month. Moreover, they boast a stunning picture resolution of 3840×2160 when playing 3D pictures.
This maker’s ‘Tru-Ultra HD engine’ perfectly delivers UHD picture quality, enabling consumers to view even HD video format in near-UHD quality.
The 65-and 55- inch UHD sets will sell for $7,999.99 and $5,999.99, respectively. Park Seok-won, head of LG Electronics USA, recently said, “Our expansion of UHD TV line-up in North America is to give wider choices to consumers in terms of price and size,” adding “We will cement our standing in the American high-definition TV market.”
