Medical Navigation and Balloon Catheter

Desktop Type Steam Sterilizer

Please tell us about your company and your main engines for growth

Give us some details about your main products

Lumini is a skin care solution that analyzes the entire face in a single shot to select and recommend a product most suitable for the user’s skin type based on artificial intelligence (AI). The most outstanding feature of Lumini is the application of a self-developed AI technology for all three steps-taking a photo, skin analysis, and product recommendation.
The real-time facial recognition technology produces optimized images for analysis and the deep-learning algorithm steadily enhances analysis accuracy. In order to recommend data, it analyzes the user’s review data as well as basic product data through natural language-processing to find a product suitable for each user’s skin

The purpose of product planning
Lumini was created based on the ideas of how the beauty market will grow in size over time, whereas there is no IT solution or data-based service for it. Besides our vision to collect data on skin types and interconnect the beauty market with Lumini, we have a long-term ambition to expand the skin data into the healthcare sector, and thus to contribute to improvement of the quality of human life.

Competitive edge over other global counterparts
Lumini is distinguished by the fact that this small device can analyze and digitize the entire skin in a single shot by using AI technology, making it a new solution that overcomes the limitations of the existing large machines or small touch-input devices.

Current marketing progress and future outlook
We have participated in the world’s top IT exhibitions including ITU, CES, and Cosmoprof as part of our efforts to advance into the global market. Afterwards, we signed MOUs with major partners worldwide and consultations are under way regarding the initial market launch.

 

What are your major export markets and emerging markets?

Concerning the utilization of Lumini technology, the most active discussion is centered on the export markets leading the global beauty industry including the USA and France. We are committed to working with the advanced companies that are open to new technologies and leading new trends. In addition, we are mounting a big push into China and Vietnam where K-Beauty has a high awareness and preference and rapid growth is being experienced.

 

Do you have a particular management philosophy as a CEO?

“Do what can to contribute to improvement of the quality of human life.” That is my management philosophy. Studying bioengineering in the United States, I researched into early detection of various diseases through DNA. As average human life expectancy is increasing, I personally felt dedicated to improving people’s quality of life while minimizing the extended but bedridden period.
Thus, we have focused primarily on the beauty care aspect of Lumini, but in the long run, we are looking to expand it into healthcare. My sincere aspiration is to provide a service to detect diseases early based on the vast skin data accumulated by using Lumini.
In terms of managing the company, as a budding start-up company, we are paying close attention to allowing each staff member to demonstrate their abilities to the fullest. It is my utmost goal as a CEO to share the joy of realizing our common objectives all together.

 

Do you have any future plan and one last message for your foreign buyers and customers?

We have a vision to interconnect all the units in the skin care market by collecting data on skin types through Lumini solutions. The biggest advantage of Lumini is the adoption of AI technology-the most talked-about issue in many fields lately-for the first time in the beauty industry, allowing consumers to use it easily and conveniently. Starting from this spring, we are providing this AI skincare service that can be applied within ten seconds to our customers worldwide. By offering solutions to suit the skin data, we look forward to fundamental changes in the beauty market.

Development of Silver Fiber Flexible Transparent Electrodes

Overcoming Silver Nanowires’ Limitations and Enabling Flexible OLED Introduction

While OLEDs are emerging as a new display technology, there are many reasons why nanowires used for OLED production have limitations. Accordingly, Korean researchers have developed a technology to overcome this shortcoming.
The National Research Foundation of Korea (Chairman Cho Mu-je) announced that professor Ju Byeong-kwon (Korea University) and Professor Park Yeong-wook (Sun Moon University) of developed flexible transparent electrodes for displays with remarkably improved luminous efficiency by producing silver fibers 100 times longer than silver nanowires.
Silver nanowires feature silver wire network structures with sections whose diameters are in centimeters. While current ITOs are not flexible, silver nanowires are flexible and have excellent conductivity and transparency as ITO electrodes. Due to this fact, silver nanowire is gaining popularity as a promising material for flexible transparent electrodes for next-generation flexible displays and lighting devices.
However, the length of nanowires is limited to several dozen micrometers (µm), which limits improvements in conductivity and transparency in utilizing silver nanowires in OLED displays and surface roughness increase due to line joining, giving rise to a limitation of being electrically unstable.
Using an electrospinning process, the team developed silver fiber electrodes with a length of several centimeters (centimeters) in length and no junctions, ensuring conductivity, transparency and electrical stability.

The electrospinning process is a process by which fibers produced by injecting a polymer solution into an electric field. As the process is simple and can produce a large area of fibers, this process can thus be applied to large OLEDs for display and illumination.
The research team maximized conductivity and transparency by controlling the thickness and density of silver fibers, resulting in 19% higher energy conversion efficiency than OLEDs using ITOs.
“This research is the first case of developing a silver electrode that overcomes the limitations of silver nanowires and introducing them to OLED,” explained Professor Ju Byeong-kwon. “It is expected that the silver fiber will contribute to securing the core technologies in wearable display and lighting market.”
“Silver fiber flexible transparent electrodes can be applied to various optical electronic devices such as LEDs, solar cells, touch screens, and optical sensors in addition to OLEDs. Silver fibers with excellent conductivity and transparency have great potential in various application fields, “Silver fiber electrodes can be produced to have wide areas and have low resistance. Therefore, when a silver electrode is applied to OLED lighting, which is being researched as next-generation lighting, we can solve problems such as high driving voltage and non-luminescence.

Pico-toning Laser System

POICOCARE450, a system specialized for pico-toning, can effectively remove the pigment legions including tattoos, dark spots, freckles, moles, and blemishes. In the case of tattoo removal treatment, POICOCARE450 can satisfactorily remove a multi-colored tattoo, which could not be easily done before, with just 2~3 sessions of treatments. For example, in the case of a freckle, three POICOCARE treatments can produce a similar result as six treatments of nano laser toning treatments. Before the system is used, Wontech confirms the pulse of Oscilloscope Pro 450 Picosecond that can ensure the pulse duration. The durability and safety of the system can be confirmed during the long demonstration period. The beam is soft on the skin without the short burning that the Q-switched Nano Laser would give, so the treatment can be conducted on sensitive and susceptible patients. It gives less discomfort to some patients thanks to less pain/burning sensations than the conventional nano laser. Currently, ‘POICOCARE450’ offers basically 1064nm, 532nm wavelengths, and a 595nm/660nm Dye hand-piece is added. When needed, an optional hand-piece can be used for various red/pigmented legions. Additional use of a Focused Fractional Laser will be effective for scars, lifting, and elasticity. ‘POICOCARE450,’ which can be variously utilized, will give much satisfaction to patients since it causes less pain and requires fewer effective treatment sessions.

 

How to Maximize Treatment Effect of POICOCARE450

When the strong 1064nm, 532nm treatment is done, it is essential to use a regenerative cream, and a sun block lotion should be generously applied. A prescription whitening cream can be prescribed, or a steroid cream can also be applied when the treatment is overdone.

AI-based Body-Composition Analyzer

Smart Monitoring Thermometer

The existing thermometers commonly adopted a principle that measures continuously through the head or forehead. However, the measurer and the subject had to wake up at night, which may cause inconvenience.
In order to alleviate this inconvenience, ChoisTechnology created the Thermosher that attaches a thermometer to the body and confirms body temperature information on a smartphone in real time. According to the medical device approval standard, the contact thermometer should pass ±0.1°C in terms of the temperature measurement error.
Considering that the approval standard of non-contact thermometer, which is ±0.2°C, its product is performed more precisely than the non-contact thermometer. In addition, the non-contact thermometers may have different positions during the measured time, but one of the advantages is that the contact thermometer can constantly monitor temperature at the same location.

Currently, the contact and monitoring smart thermometers such as Thermosher are becoming increasingly popular on the global market. Temp Traq is a representative example in the United States, and there are similar products available in the Chinese and European markets. Temp Traq only operated once for 24 hours. On the other hand, Thermosher can be used semi-permanently by using the battery. And it designed to be attached to sensitive skin safely by using a small, slim silicon patch.
The market for home U-healthcare combined with IoT technology is increasing. In combination with IoT technology, ChoisTechnology is increasing the need for more convenient bio-information measuring devices in proportion to the need to constantly measure and manage an individual’s biometric information. Third-generation Smart Band ‘InBody Band 2’
