With 3,400 participating companies from 70 countries, the Hanover CeBIT 2015 provided opportunities for over 200,000 visitors to observe the status of information communications technologies from all over the world and to predict the future progress of these technologies. In addition to the 45 companies participating in the Korean section of the expo, 60 South Korean businesses displayed several interesting ideas and technologies, attracting keen attention from European buyers as well as buyers from all over the world.

Samsung Electronics introduced a total of 90 solutions, including solutions from their 50 affiliates, across six major B2B segments regarding distribution, education, medicine, logistics, hotels, and finance while also providing opportunities for visitors to experience the solutions applied to each segment. In addition to this, an IoT technology applied office environment and a distribution warehouse environment were set up to provide an outlook on future business environments. Samsung Electronics also introduced a number of mobile health solutions applied to smartphones and tablets.

A notable example included a ‘mobile exercise coaching solution for cardiovascular patients’ that has a remote health management function that sends the heart rates and blood pressures measured and analyzed by small sensors of exercising patients to appropriate medical personnel.

Samsung Electronics also demonstrated solutions for corporations such as ‘Samsung Pay’, a mobile payment system to be applied to the Galaxy s6,’ and the ‘Samsung Cloud Print,’ a solution that allows the printing of documents from any place and any time using smart devices.

Security firm Intercoax introduced a product that makes it possible to send electricity and data over remote distance using existing coaxial cables requiring no additional expenses. The product can be allied in B2C products such as CCTVs and also along industrial services such as industrial IPTV. Elvision Technologies introduced a pair of smart 3D glasses and a micro display optical module. The company differentiated itself through the use of an OLED display and is expected to introduce a complete product by the end of the year.

Startups focused on DB management also gained much attention. A nine-month-old startup called Rafa LCI applied mathematical analysis methods and deep learning technologies to an existing price trend compiling DB platform to introduce a ‘CLEBUS’ capable of predicting future commodity prices. The DB becomes more accurate with more data and more optimal coefficient configurations. Davolink introduced a ‘SmartAir’ solution capable of managing thousands of APs accessing a WiFi hub. The company became recognized as a success case having converted developed technologies into revenue in short periods of time. At CeBit, an Italian distributor assisted the company to expand its operations in the European market.

Digital acoustics firm Ganawavesys was another noteworthy company. While introducing Dolby 5.1 and 7.1 channel headsets, the company also introduced special cables used to connect acoustics devices that were developed based on self developed metal patterning technologies. Wireless car-pack and smart phone holder manufacturer Home&Co introduced a Bluetooth media controller called KEEPOP and pursued a marketing strategy focused on emphasizing its outdoor applications and small size. By doing so, the company managed to develop contractual leads with German, Italian, Dutch, and Polish buyers. The company expects over US$1 million worth of exports as they are also being asked to create customized products to fit the requirements of some of the buyers.

Multimedia electronic lectern manufacturer PK LNS participated in CeBIT for the third year and introduced a new solution based on a hardware and software merging e-learning system. The product was accepted as being customized, stable, and sustainable in the European market and resulted in over US$800,000 worth of contracts entered on site.

Mobile alcohol breathalyzer manufacturer DA Tech continued to maintain their recognition as providers of pin-point accurate breathalyzers and managed to develop US$1.94 million worth of contractual leads from existing European sales channels and new buyers.

Wonderlink, a business that provides tracing services for lost smartphones, entered CeBIT with a smartphone- loss-prevention device known as Q-Finder. The company managed to enter into three technical development agreements and nine highly possible export leads. Q-Finder uses a Bluetooth-based notification system that alerts users before smartphones are lost and also is fitted with a remote camera controlling technology. The company attracted much interest, not only among European buyers, but also from Middle Eastern and Asian buyers.
