A massage chair is a representative healthcare home appliance that relaxes stiff muscles and helps relieve fatigue. BODYFRIEND explains that ‘Phantom Rovo,’ a robot-type massage chair with patented technology that
massages by independently driving both legs, allows the left and right feet to move independently, thus enabling various kinds of stretching.
‘Phantom Rovo’ was launched last summer by BODYFRIEND, the No. 1 maker in the healthcare massage industry in Korea, and it also won the Best Innovation Award at the 2022 Ergonomic Design Awards. Its feature is the fact that it provides a stretching effect that increases muscles by applying stimulation to the lower body muscles that were previously difficult to stimulate, such as the iliopsoas, piriformis, and hamstring, through a technology called “rovo-walking technology.”

BODYFRIEND unveiled innovative products at CES 2023, the world’s largest home appliance and information technology (IT) exhibition, adding to a new future for healthcare. BODYFRIEND is focusing on R&D with about 200 researchers through establishing a convergence R&D center that embraces technology research center, design research center, and medical R&D center. BODYFRIEND, Inc. puts all of its capabilities into each product to create
luxurious products.
Starting with this CES, BODYFRIEND plans to enter the US market in earnest. Although the massage chair market is not yet large in the United States, the company believes that there is great potential for growth. It aims to achieve sales of 30 billion won this year.

A spokesperson of the company said, “We have fully confirmed the needs of consumers. It’s still in its early stages, but we’re trying to focus on American consumers. As the medical paradigm is in the process of changing from treatment to prevention, we will lead the home healthcare market.”

Radiologists can improve diagnostic accuracy for dense and fatty breasts by up to 5% and 12%, respectively. Lunit INSIGHT MMG automatically analyzes and generates quantitative density assessment during breast screening. Lunit INSIGHT MMG successfully analyzed the mammogram of an overlooked case in 2020, where cancer was missed and the female patient was diagnosed two years later.

With this contract, it will supply Lunit INSIGHT MMG, an AI image analysis solution for mammography, to HKWI Hospital, the largest imaging center in Hong Kong, the Mongolian National Cancer Center, and medical institutions located in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Dr. Odbayar, a breast surgeon at the Mongolian National Cancer Center, recently said, “The incidence of breast cancer is on the rise in Mongolia, so the introduction of artificial intelligence will greatly contribute to the medical field by increasing the productivity of medical staff, saving overall examination time, and reducing medical service costs.”
